KCDC President/CEO Named One of SB&D’s “Economic Development Rock Stars of Kentucky” 1993-2022


Terri Bradshaw, President/CEO of Kentucky Capital Development Corporation, the lead economic development agency for Frankfort and Franklin County, has been recognized by Southern Business & Development (SB&D) magazine as one of Kentucky’s Economic Development Rock Stars as part of its year long celebration of 30 years of publishing and reporting on economic development in the South. SB&D has a long history of visiting and working with economic developers throughout the South and a 30-year database on project activity in each Southern state. The capture of significant projects information in the last 30 years was the primary criteria for choosing our “Economic Development Rock Stars of the South,” 1993-2022. Terri has been a leader in economic development throughout Kentucky for more than 30 years. In her tenure at KCDC she founded EmpowHER Frankfort, which brings women together to support, encourage and empower them to grow personally and professionally as well as harness their knowledge and skills to benefit the community. She implemented Think Frankfort First, a workforce and economic development initiative that provides information about the benefits of local businesses to the community; an onboarding ambassador program; a clearinghouse of apprenticeship and employment opportunities; and a housing development strategy, all to help in recruiting and retaining a local workforce. And she was instrumental in the formation of Development Interest Group (DIG) Frankfort, a group of developers and financial and business professionals who promote growth and development in Frankfort and Franklin County and the Regional Youth Leadership and Career Exploration initiative that developments leadership and communication as well as opportunities to discover career opportunities within the region for students in Franklin, Woodford and Anderson counties. Under her leadership Frankfort has been named one of the Top 100 Micropolitans for economic development projects in the United States, six of the last eight years.
