Franklin County Tourist Commission Brings Value to Our Community and its Businesses

The Frankfort Franklin County Tourist Commission is the marketing organization for the City and County and is valuable to the community. They cost the City and County almost nothing, as their funding comes from visitors to the community. They spend the bulk of those funds marketing the community to visitors of all kinds – bourbon lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, history buffs, sports teams, meeting planners, motorcoach tour operators, art lovers, etc. The advertising and promotion they do for the 34 City and 14 County attractions, as well as local events, concerts, etc. helps to promote local businesses and attract people to visit and spend money here.

Money coming into our community from tourism dollars helps our local businesses stay open, creates jobs and offsets tax revenue that would otherwise be paid by residents.

Key Findings from 2019 KY Dept. of Tourism Research showed that visitors to Franklin County, KY spent $82 Million on Lodging, Food and Beverage, and Retail; representing 7.8 % growth over 2018.
